About the Event
Adequate pranayama training is often missing from many Westernized Yoga programs. In some cases, physical posture (asana/ vinyasa) training has even become exalted as a superior form of exercise than other health-oriented activities. Over-emphasizing the body and physical reality has led some people to under-estimate the value and immense return-on-investment of cultivating the mind and nervous system through correct breathing. Due to this overemphasis of physicality, breath-focused training regimens (pranayama) may have fallen behind in their importance. A large part of this discrepancy is due to the fact that there are not many people who are focused on both the application AND refinement of pranayama. To restore the balance of importance between body, breath, and mind cultivation disciplines, the 100 hour Pranayama Practitioner Training emerged.
This PPT is a result of me noticing the discrepancy and seeking to support people in their study, research, practice and refinement solely of their breathing practices. The content and teaching in this training is an emergence from direct experience and application of centuries-old Hatha Yoga breathing methods and thousands of hours of study and refinement. In this course has been development specifically to train practitioners how, why and what to do in order to maintain a steady yogic breathwork practice, and how to integrate that into their lives for better health, well-being, and physiological optimization.
Breathing exercises have been employed over millennia for health, well being and spiritual enlightenment. The yogic systems, and especially the Hatha Yoga system, have systemized and refined the various techniques that are possible and give us a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of breathing, as well as the subtle processes beneath respiration.
Come dive into this breath-focused training with a group of other practitioners ready to go for it.
